It’s not the first time Volkswagen has entered the world of entertainment. Recent partnerships with Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and Disney+ on Star Wars epics Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, and The Mandalorian have all helped introduce the ID. Range to an ever-increasing audience ‘Emotional storytelling through this kind of cooperation is enormously important for brands nowadays.’ said Nelly Kennedy, Chief Marketing Officer for Volkswage

Electric emotions

Volkswagen committed to the Paris Climate Agreement in 2016 and continues to champion electric driving today.   We plan to be net carbon-neutral by 2050 and launch at least one new fully-electric vehicle yearly.

Having the Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir characters become electric car adopters makes perfect sense, as explained by Aton Soumache and Emmanuel Jacomet, the producers of the film ‘From the very beginning of this incredible adventure, the collaboration with Volkswagen appeared to us a natural fit.’ They said, before highlighting the shared values between the film and Volkswagen ‘We share a common DNA, bringing the family together around strong values that embody our modern world and are oriented toward the future.’

The collaboration also appealed to the film’s director, Jérémy Zag ‘My creative team and I had a lot of fun adapting the iconic vehicles of the Volkswagen brand to the world of the film. To integrate them into the film and the Parisian settings, we played with the brand's famous identity and brought modernity. Ladybug and Cat Noir represent the new generation, and the vehicles in the film embody that modernity.’

We’re delighted to open the ID. Range to a huge new audience of present and future drivers as part of Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie. Spreading awareness of our brilliant electric cars, and what they can do, is a vital part of inspiring people to adopt more sustainable driving. It goes a long way to helping us achieve our commitment to be a net carbon-neutral company by 2050.
