Three musicians. Three creative visions. One All-New Taigo Campaign.

The all-new Taigo does things a little differently, to celebrate its creative spirit we asked three musicians, Yugen Blakrok, Chris James and GHEIST, to tell us a little bit more about where they take inspiration. We also worked with them to create music videos, featuring the Taigo.

Yugen Blakrok

Hailing from the Eastern Cape of South Africa, Yugen Blakrok is making a splash in the hip hop world by blending 90s influences with modern production to create a truly unique sound. Yugen described to us how important creativity is to her in terms of music and her wider work “There’s always a need to express originality in a new way.” She and collaborator Kanif were extremely pleased to shoot a video in collaboration with Volkswagen “It was definitely bigger than I imagined because we’re used to shooting our own stuff!” she told us happily.

Chris James

When it comes to making music, Chris James truly has it all. A singer, songwriter, producer, and content creator, he’s made a name for himself using social media to boost his profile “I think without the internet I wouldn’t have been able to get that kind of platform” he explained to us when we sat down with him on set. He describes himself as a “bedroom producer” and told us how amazing it was to see something he made in his bedroom being made into a big production video. He also went into detail about the importance of collaborating telling us the work that results is “so interesting because it’s always something different.”

GHEIST

Originally from Berlin, this talented trio and lifelong friends have become the toast of the global club scene. By combining slick production and beautiful song writing, they are influenced by everything from classical to reggae music. They described to us how important music is to them, telling us “Music is definitely one of the biggest things in our lives. It’s a way to express ourselves and to let out our feelings.” They were also very impressed by the production of the music video we helped them create, “Slightly better than a cell phone camera!” Take a look at the video by clicking below.
