OurWagen story

Ken and Lyn are volunteer drivers doing drop-offs for people going to hospitals. With anything up to 300 journeys in a single year, it was important for them to have a reliable car with a good range and they felt the ID.4 was the perfect car for the job.

Charging at home made easy

  • VW electric car charging

    Simple 3 pin charging

At a very basic level you can charge your ID. with an ordinary 3 pin plug. Whilst this method charges at a more leisurely pace (typically around 2.3kW), it’s reassuring to know you can charge anywhere there’s a 3-pin socket.

  • Ohme wallbx

    Our Ohme home charger

A home charger is a convenient way to charge your ID. It allows you to fully charge your battery to the level you want. We recommend to our customers that they install an Ohme home charger which comes with a ‘Max charge’ feature, giving your vehicle a battery boost in rapid time. You can see more about Ohme home charger here. Our scheduled charging functionality allows you to choose to charge during times when the electricity tariff is lower. Our recommended energy provider, OVO, offer a cheaper tariff on electric-vehicle charging with Charge Anytime, to find out more click here.

    Local street chargers

There are many ways to find chargers near you, such as ZapmapOpens an external link. On-street chargers are a mix of fast DC and slower ones, and some are in street lamps so see what you have around you. You need to download their specific app to charge with different providers. Don’t forget, most workplaces and car parks now have charging bays too.

Public rapid charge point availability is increasing all the time

The public charging network is growing rapidly. Since December 2022, the network has grown by 45% meaning there are now more charging stations in the UK than fuel stations1.

Fewer moving parts

A Volkswagen ID. has far fewer moving parts than its combustion engine equivalent, which reduces the need for servicing and makes diagnostics much easier, particularly with our Smart Diagnostics and specialist servicing network. To keep you on the road, the entire range comes with fixed 2-year service intervals with unlimited mileage. You can read more about electric car servicing here
