What they mean and what you should do

It can be concerning when a warning light appears on your dashboard. Our comprehensive guide will help you to quickly identify them so you can take any necessary action. Scroll down to find the warning light you’re seeing and click for more information. 

Warning lights come in four varieties – red, amber, green, and white.

  • Red – Pull over as soon as it’s safe and call roadside assistance on 0800 777 192
  • Amber ­– Your vehicle needs professional attention as soon as possible. We recommend booking a service or MOT with an authorised Volkswagen retailer. 
  • Green – Information only. No action required. 
  • White ­– Display functions and information only. No action required.
