Recycling and returning: what goes around comes around
We take back our products once they have reached the end of their service life. In fact, 95% of your Volkswagen can be recycled and recovered.
Recycled materials at Volkswagen
Our goal is to reduce the consumption of new raw materials. To this end, as much as possible, we include recycled materials in the manufacturing process of our vehicles. For example, recycled plastic materials that are made of post-consumer or production waste. Additional information on a more sustainable management of resources can be found in our “Way to Zero” campaign.
Consistent quality
Whether they’re new products or recycled materials, our components meet high standards. When we use recycled materials it’s only of the highest quality. All components are rigorously tested before use.

Making the service life of an electric car as sustainable as possible
Our efforts to make electromobility as sustainable as possible extend beyond the use of recycled materials or the recycling of batteries. Our initiatives and measures start with raw materials and the use of green electricity for production.
