Volkswagen presents its electric range at the Fully Charged all-electric car show.

From April 29th to May 1st, Volkswagen was at Fully Charged LIVE UK, the country’s largest electric car show, to present the all-electric ID. Family.

At Volkswagen we see electric driving as an essential part of our future. That’s why we jumped at the opportunity to show off the all-electric ID. Family at this year’s Fully Charged LIVE.

Fully Charged is the world’s largest clean energy and electric vehicle show. Initially launched as a YouTube channel by actor Robert Llewellyn in 2010, Fully Charged’s flagship event now travels to Europe, America, and Australia.

Tens of thousands of visitors go to Fully Charged events each year to attend talks, check out attractions, and test drive the latest electric vehicles on the market. So, we thought we’d attend the UK edition at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre.

We took the ID. 3, ID.4, ID.5, and ID. Buzz along to give attendees a closer look at what the family has to offer. The ID.3 and ID.4 were available to test drive around the venue’s track while the ID. 5 and ID. Buzz were both on display and drew many people’s attention.

In particular, the ID. 5’s stylish interior design captured the public’s imagination. The elegantly simple colourway was widely praised, as were other interior features including the ambient lighting, AR head-up display, and panoramic sunroof. Its generous amount of boot space also made an impression. The ID. Buzz meanwhile lived up to its name by causing a splash, with people loving the modern reimagining of the iconic Volkswagen Camper Van.

Alongside our regular-sized models, a smaller, but no less well-loved, Volkswagen also made an appearance. Fresh off its breakthrough performance at the 2020 UEFA European Championships, Tiny Football Car was also in attendance.

We weren’t just there to display our models, however. We also showcased some of our innovations that will have an impact on the electric automotive industry, especially when it comes to the charging infrastructure. We unveiled our partnership with BP, which will see us roll out the Flexpole charging system designed to make installation across the network faster and easier.

We were honoured to be involved with Fully Charged Live. It was great to receive such positive feedback from attendees on the ID. Family, and we look forward to hopefully returning next time.
