PRIZE DRAW TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Volkswagen UK GTI and R Merch Giveaway Competition Prize Draw (Promotion) Terms and Conditions. July 2024.

By entering the Promotion, entrants agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:
 
1. At the start of the Promotion, the Promoter will post a "call to action" post on its Facebook page (@Volkswagen_UK) promoting the Promotion (the "Post"). There will be 3 posts and therefore 3 opportunities to enter. To enter you must answer the question posted on the Volkswagen UK (United Kingdom) Facebook posts.
  • Post 1 10th July – to enter, comment stating which current Volkswagen models have an R variant by 12th July 2024, 11:59pm.
  • Post 2 16th July  – to enter, comment stating which current Volkswagen models come in GTI trim by 18th July 2024, 11:59pm.
  • Post 3 22nd July  – to enter, answer the question, ‘what does GTI stand for’ by 29th July 2024, 11:59pm.

2. Open to all United Kingdom residents over the age of 18 years. Only one entry per person. Multiple entries or entries made through agents, third parties, organised groups or any entry duplication method will not be accepted. Entrants must have an Facebook account set to public (to permit direct messages from the Promoter) to enter.

3. Offer not open to employees of Volkswagen Group United Kingdom Limited, their agents or contractors, Volkswagen Group brand retailers and anyone else connected with the promotion.

4. The prize package that can be won consists of one of each of the following:

  • Post 1/prize 1 – R Rucksack and R mug
  • Post 2/Prize 2 – GTI umbrella and GTI keyring
  • Post 3/Prize 3 – GTI hat and GTI bag
    (the "Prize").

5. One (1) winner will be drawn at random on or around 4 days after the closing date of each post from all valid entries received by the Promoter which answer the question correctly in the post announcing the Promotion, and shall be notified by direct message via Facebook. In the case that the prize is unclaimed after 72 hours, where reasonable efforts have been made to contact the winner, substitute winners will keep being drawn until the prize can be awarded

6. The winner will be asked to provide their delivery address and the prize package will be delivered to the winner within 30 days of confirming prize delivery address. Full name, email address and a contact phone number will be required for shipping updates and confirmation. The winner's details shall only be used to send the prize and such . information shall be destroyed by the Promoter after 2 months.

 7. The Promoter’s decision is final.

8. There is a maximum of one Prize per post.

9. The name of the winner and the Prize won will (unless the winner has objected on lawful grounds) be made available on receipt of a self-addressed pre-paid envelope received by the Promoter before 25th August 2023. Entrants can object to disclosure or request that disclosure be limited in scope by contacting Volkswagen Marketing, Yeomans Drive, Milton Keynes, MK14 5AN. The Promoter may nevertheless disclose the information to the Advertising Standards Authority if required.

10. The Prize is non-transferable and non-refundable.

11. There is no cash alternative.

12. The Promoter reserves its right to substitute any Prize with a prize of equivalent value in the event of circumstances outside of its control.

13. The Promoter reserves the right to alter, amend, foreclose, or withdraw the promotion and/or the terms and conditions of entry at any time and without prior notice.

14. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant it believes not to be participating within the spirit of the promotion or suspects of participating in any unfair or unjust behaviour. The Promoter reserves the right to use its discretion in all respects and to enforce any penalty or sanction it deems appropriate.  

15. The Promoter may, in its sole discretion, delete any comment posted on the Post and/or require any participant to alter or remove any content posted on their own Facebook stories, feed or platform in connection with the Promotion.

16. No purchase is necessary.

17. If at any time you wish to withdraw from the Promotion your request should be made in writing to the Promoter.

18. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost or delayed or rendered invalid due to incorrect participant data, lack of network coverage, system, software or hardware failure or for any other reason beyond its control.

19. Internet access is required.

20. If there is a conflict between the terms and conditions for this Promotion and any other terms whatsoever attached to any other advertising material in respect of this Promotion, these conditions will apply.

22. The Promotion and these terms and conditions (including any non-contractual disputes or claims arising out of them) are subject to English law and any disputes or claims must be referred to the English courts. Consumers in Scotland or Northern Ireland may additionally bring an action in their home courts.

23. This promotion is run by Volkswagen Group United Kingdom. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook.

24. To enter, entrants will need a Facebook account (which are free to create at http://Facebook.com)

25. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding this Promotion should be directed to the Promoter and not to Facebook.

26. This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. Facebook is completely released of all liability by each entrant in this Promotion.  This Promotion is subject to Facebook's terms of service, which can be found at https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms.

Privacy Information

1. Your personal data will be held by Volkswagen Group United Kingdom Limited (the "Promoter"). Further information on how we handle your information can be found here: https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/privacy
The performance of our agreement incorporating the Terms and Conditions (outlined above) is the legal basis for the Promoter's use of your personal data. If you do not provide your personal data, the Promoter cannot process your competition entry and cannot notify you if you are successful.

 2. All entries, and therefore social media handle names, will be visible on the original social media post unless deleted by the user.  If you are successful, you will be asked to share your email address, telephone number and shipping address to fulfil the prize.

3. The Promoter will share your information with DDB UK Limited who are engaged by the Promoter to administer the competition. In the event you are successful, DDB UK Limited will need your email address, telephone number and shipping address to send the prize. This information will then be deleted 2 months after the items have been received.
