Volkswagen We Charge App network has expanded to 13,330 charge point connectors

Customers will be offered a three-tiered membership with a single tariff for all AC and DC chargers

Since Volkswagen Group announced its partnership with bp in April 2022, the We Charge network has expanded and now provides access to 6,630 bp charge point connectors in the UK.

This takes the We Charge overall network coverage of DC chargers to 63 per cent and AC chargers to 27 per cent.

Our partner bp is one of the largest energy providers and is making significant changes to the charging landscape. The company recently announced that it is investing £1billion into the UK charging infrastructureOpens an external link over the next 10 years, as well as tripling the amount of charge points and deploying more fast and ultra-fast chargers in key locations.

Strategic partnership

The strategic partnership with the Volkswagen Group aims to boost adoption of electric vehicles by overcoming common barriers, such as the recently launched 105kw FlexPole chargers that have an integrated battery storage system eliminating the need for high-powered grid connection. By the end of 2024, up to 8,000 FlexPole charge points could be available across Germany, the UK and other European countries.

The We Charge integration allows our customers access to this expanding network and a premium offering that shows real-time availability information and details of public-charging prices on the app but also in their vehicle navigation. Customers will have access to new ‘Plug and Charge’ features that are due to arrive on new ID. models and updated as part of the 3.0 software update

Important information :

1.
Lithium-ion batteries, of the type used in most electric vehicles (including Volkswagen electric vehicles) have a restricted lifespan. Battery capacity will reduce over time, with use and charging. Reduction in battery capacity will affect the performance of the vehicle, including the range achievable, and is one of a number of factors that may impact resale value. New vehicle performance figures (including battery capacity and range) may be provided for the purposes of comparison between vehicles. You should not rely on new vehicle performance figures (including battery capacity and range), in relation to used vehicles with older batteries, as they will not reflect used vehicle performance in the real world. For further information on battery degradation/preservation and the Volkswagen 8 year/100,00 mile new car battery warranty, please see here. Exclusions and Warranty Terms Apply.

If you are selecting any other Volkswagen vehicle (excluding the Volkswagen ID.3, ID.4, ID.5 and ID.7) then prices listed are Manufacturer’s ‘On the road’ Recommended Retail Price. Actual prices are set by Volkswagen authorised retailers in their sole discretion – always obtain these prices from your chosen Volkswagen Retailer.  Recommended On-The-Road (OTR) retail prices include: delivery charge, number plates, new vehicle registration fee, the first year's Vehicle Excise Duty and VAT (calculated at 20%).
